Dr Richard Hale
With a wealth of consultancy experience and a doctorate focusing upon coaching and mentoring relationships, Richard has the genuine ability to unlock the real talent within an organisation.
In his early career Richard headed Training and Development functions with GEC Marconi and British Sky Broadcasting. His experience in leadership development has led him to work closely with financial services organisations including HBOS Financial Services, Lloyds TSB Asset Finance Division, Zurich Insurance and Westbury Homes to provide work based leadership qualifications to Masters degree level.
His publications include eight books covering subjects such as performance management, influencing, problem solving and the virtual organisation. Richard’s work on Impact and Influence has received international acclaim. He has co-authored Keep Walking: Leadership Learning in Action with polar adventurer Alan Chambers and is currently writing with Phil Davies (National Academy Manager for the Welsh Rugby Football Union), an account of his career and the links between elite sports and business coaching.
Richard’s style is to use a challenging and questions based approach to encourage learning. This method has been recognised by several universities with which he collaborates. Currently, he is the Director of Studies with the National Outsourcing Association on their education pathway.
He has consulting and leadership experience with many international organizations, including, Coca-Cola, Motorola, Esselte, Allied Domecq, Diageo and Virgin.
Richard has a first degree in humanities, a postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management (CIPD), and a professional doctorate in management.
