True North Launch 2010 Breakfast Seminar Series
The chance to re-charge your Learning and Development batteries is back, with the first of the 2010 Breakfast Seminars on 20 April in Swindon. Speakers include Claire Balmforth, HR Director of retail giant Carpetright plc, and Alun Jones, HR Director, of the law firm Leo Abse and Cohen.
Our clients are telling us they are challenged by restricted budgets, unpredictable markets, organisational change or unique organisational cultures, and yet many continue to run significant Learning and Development programmes, which make a positive, direct and noticeable contribution to the organisation.
Recently we have arranged some very successful meetings between our clients, where they have been able to share best practice and develop new ideas.
Based on this success, we are delighted to be renewing our Best Practice Breakfast Workshops.
The first in the series of Best Practice Breakfast workshops will be:
How to Ensure Learning and Development is Truly Valued In Your Organisation And Turn Organisational Challenges Into Outstanding Business Results
Speakers:
Claire Balmforth, Group HR Director, Carpetright plc:
In her 4 years in role, as Group HR Director, Claire has shifted the perception of HR, by creating a department that directly contributes to business results. Mark Watkins of True North says of Claire " She has a gift for building strong relationships in the organisation and knowing the right people and projects which will deliver results. She has directly linked the sales and people agenda to create significant organisational results."
Alun Jones, HR Director, Leo Abse and Cohen:
Alun's role as Director of HR and Training at Leo Abse and Cohen and his place on the board ensures that Human Resources and Training is a core issue within the Firm. Despite his wide reaching and busy role, Alun took the decision to deliver the firm's Leading and Managing Programme himself, rather than using external facilitators. Find out why Alun felt this was the right decision for his organisation, and hear him share his experiences so far.
