gil sewellA stimulating and empathic communicator, Gil brings a passionate belief in the immense potential of all individuals and teams to her every interaction with people. Skilled in unlocking and drawing out people’s innate abilities, she is a patient facilitator, yet tough and demanding on performance. Her legacy to any organisation is a long-term change in the behaviour and attitudes of the people she has touched. She has a track record in transforming management groups, from first tier to executive and board level, into cohesive, responsible, forward-looking bodies who continue to make a difference in their place of work long after her intervention. With almost twenty years' experience in the field of development, Gil’s career began in HR at Marks and Spencer plc. A three-year contract based in Milan to design and implement management development programmes for executives from all over the world stimulated her passion for development and brought her highly developed communication and relationship skills to bear across cultures from three continents. With True North, Gil continues to exercise these gifts with boards and management at all levels. Recognised as an outstanding coach and facilitator, Gil brings huge energy, commitment and a strong sense of fun to whichever arena she is focusing on. Gils has a BA (Hons) in French Language and Literature, and also speaks fluent Italian. She has a Diploma in Performance Coaching (Business) as well as accreditation as an Insights practitioner. Gil has worked in a wide and varied range of areas, including manufacture (Oxford Magnet Technology, part of Siemens Medical, Westcode Semiconductors and Swindon Pressings, part of BMW Group) the professions (Blake Lapthorn Linnell, Thring Townsend), pharmaceutical (Genzyme Therapeutics, Ciba-Geigy), telecoms (BT, Euphony Communications), automotive (Lex Vehicle Leasing, Hyundai and Automotive Coatings Ltd) and the charitable sector (Gate Training).
